If you sold 13043 ($15,000 worth at $1.15) now you'd get $16,534 less $19.95 brokerage (through Commsec anyway). So you would be up $1,515 or so.

You would then be able to buy them back for $15,00o.

However it depends what it is they they cost you initially, how long you've held them, and whether any profit will be treated as income or Capital Gains Tax by the ATO.

My average price is 14.2 cents so if I sold 13043 now and got $16,534 (at $1.27 ps) I would make a 'profit' of about $14,500 which I would then have to pay income tax on. Tax would probably be at least $4,350 on that amount.

So the outcome for me would be (roughly) $16,534 less ($1,852 purchase price + $19.95 broker + $4,350 tax) equalling a net outcome of $10,312.

And out of that $10,312 'profit' I would have to pay $15,000 to replace them.

So it would be a waste of time and money for me.

But it depends on your individual circumstances, Tarasbulba, and what you want to achieve.
