16 HC Personality Types

Please excuse the slightly off topic nature of this to end the trading week.....I’ve been on HC across multiple threads for a few years now and seen all types....on the basis of that have come up with this list.

(Didn’t know where else to post it other than the thread I’m most active on)

HC Personality Types

The Hopeless Romantic - rose coloured glasses no matter what news breaks/ is hopelessly in love with his or her stock holding/ gets very hurt by the trolls

The Newbie - very new to the scene and openly owns that. Asks simple naive questions. Other posters reactions range from exasperation/ nastiness to sympathy/patience

The Dumbass- a dangerous poster/lots of ill informed posts/ very opinionated but not much substance

The Wise Old Boomer - refers to a long history of investing/has seen it all/ likes to share their ‘experience’/ likes to remind everyone that they picked up their $100 stock “for 25c back in 1984”

The Conversationalist - chatty style/ lots of questions and comments/ mostly brief one or two line posts/ likes to ‘make friends’/ at times ‘overly familiar’ with other posters

The Creepy Conversationalist - as per ‘The Conversationalist’ above except takes things too far suggesting posters get together in person.....eg booking hotels for ‘$100 parties’ and the like.

The ‘A’ Class Veteran - Quality poster/thousands of posts/ big following/ a ‘heart’ badge

The ‘B’ Class Veteran - Good solid poster/ thousands of posts/ the HC bedrock

The Hack Veteran - Just thousands of posts

The Lecturer - doesn’t engage much with other posters - just lays out the world according to them from time to time

The Analyst - pretty intense types that back their arguments with all manner of data, facts, figures, graphs and charts ....sometimes from dubious sources.

The Troll - just a nasty piece of work/ nothing of any real value posted/ personally attacks other posters/ mostly just trashes stocks

The Antagonist - thrives on an argument/ posting history shows inconsistencies in which side of the argument they actually sit on/doesn’t matter to them - as long as they are in an argument.

The Bitter and Twisted - can’t see positives in anything/ never backs a stock - only runs them down/ a ‘not held’ on everything they post on

The Chameleon - usually a troll/ bobs up for a flurry of antagonistic posts over a period of days or weeks then disappears (similar style/language evident under multiple HC names suggest these posters constantly change their ‘identity’)

The Parody Poster - a bit of a virus on HC/posters using deliberate misspelling and pigeon English under multiple accounts as they play ‘characters’/ make stupid positive comments usually about stocks that are complete trainwrecks/ phrases like “to the moon” and “rocket ship” feature prominently.
