If the results were the same - they wouldn't have said this, if the results were not as good - they wouldn't have said this, if the results were possibly greater - why would you say it and then face disappointment? My personal opinion (IMHO), is that is the best they could say without breaking announcement rules.
4 times net thickness is definitely a "maybe greater" than expected. Seems like they follow the rules on announcements. I like that in management.
As you say Amel it will be interesting to see if that is one massive coal seam.
As for price, seems like the traders didn't want to climb on to it, which can be a good thing, as they can drive it down just as fast as they drive it up. Small volumes. Maybe an interesting close.
