BTU 13/02/2012 15:28 MINE REL: 1528 HRS Bathurst Resources Limited MINE: BTU: Outcomes from Pre-Hearing Conference 13th February 2012 Listed Company Relations New Zealand Exchange Ltd Level 2, NZX Centre 11 Cable Street Wellington, New Zealand Company Announcements Platform Australian Stock Exchange 10th Floor, 20 Bond Street Sydney NSW 2000 OUTCOMES FROM PRE-HEARING CONFERENCE Bathurst Resources Ltd (ASX & NZX: BTU) is pleased to announce the following material outcomes from the Pre-Hearing Conference for appeals against the Escarpment mine project that was held today in Christchurch, New Zealand: - The Environment Court will hear the declaration on climate change in March (the declaration hearing); - An additional pre-hearing conference will be held shortly after the declaration hearing at which time the Court will likely set the date for the hearing of the substantive appeal issues; and - The parties are to submit an agreed Statement of Issues to the Court by the first week in March. On the basis of the agreed Statement of issues, Bathurst is aiming to provide its evidence to the Court by 1 June, 2012. Commenting on the outcomes of today's pre-hearing, Bathurst's CEO Mr Bohannan said: "We are pleased with the outcomes from today's pre-hearing, as the timing for the resolution of the appeals remains on track and we are hopeful for a hearing in the September quarter of 2012; the Environment Court is clearly giving the matter an appropriate level of urgency which is very encouraging".
