Sydney - Friday - April 21: (RWE Aust Business News) - Gateway Mining NL (ASX:GML) said Placer Dome had completed due diligence on the Gidgee gold project, Western Australia.
Placer, which is now a subsidiary of Barrick Gold, has advised that exploration will start in the near future.
Placer will spend over $4 million to earn 70 per cent of selective tenements.
The two companies have agreed to include any further acquisition adjoining the area on a Placer 70pc/Gateway 30pc basis.
Gateway will focus its efforts on its remaining leases.
Gateway shares were steady at 17c.
