Regarding patent fees, you need to take a longer-term view. Glyn was probably just suggesting that they have steadily increased over the years (see below). My concern (highlighted red) is the significant increase in "administration fees". It's good to see the increase in product design and trial testing expenses (highlighted green) as this is consistent with the commercial deals and products that have evolved over the last few years.
