From what I understand is many non-essential businesses have had to close, and largely unless your are essential worker you can't work.
Better to encourage the social distancing, even wearing masks more etc but still operate as normally as possible for the majority. With perhaps some tighter restrictions on particularly bad locations.
If you can work from home work from home and reduce contacts for now - but other than that regardless of the number of infections the only number that matters is the ability for the hospitals to manage.
