also, the correlation between assays & grade factoring is really about average assay grades versus average production grades as i understand it.
from the top of my head : average assay grades come in at less than average bulk sample grades. and also, average bulk sample grades come in at less than average production grades.
in-other-words the bigger the volume the higher the grade. as an example : on the website (under :the gap zone) it mentions the archilles reef that averaged 10g/t Au from assays yet in production averaged a grade of 29g/t.
so, as PeterH said last week, it was more important to find a new reef, even if grades came in at 2g/t, as the big nuggets would predictably be in place in-any-case. thus assays of 2g/t would average out for the reef at a much higher grade in production i.e. grade factoring.
