Call me naive but doesn't the state of the economy have...

Call me naive but doesn't the state of the economy have something to do with the budget????

For example in good times companies make more profits and pay more taxes....people are employed and do more overtime etc and pay more taxes...These same people spend with retailers etc who pay more tax....


In tough times company profits fall...employment falls...retail sales fall and tax revenue falls...

Wether we have a labor or liberal government it would be a disaster for this country to chase a budget surplus at this time.

This countries coffers only fill one way and thats by tax revenue and empty with government spending.

So whats the answer?...Increase tax and slash spending?..No Thanks


Thankfully this great country of ours has and independant treasury and Federal Reserve Bank who can look past the hysteria and give us what we need rather than what we want.
