Lots of possibilities!
They could be tripping out for a bit change, they could have run into some problems or they just may be struggling mightily to regain control of the well after an enourmous kick, almost resulting in a blow out. They might even be running production casing and just haven't had time to write up a release - lol.
For mine, it's probably a routine bit change and they will be getting on with drilling again later today (probably a 24-48 hour round trip at this depth).
