    Ten years ago is the past, Forge, and I'm talking the now and the future. And yes, I would not advise renters to buy in this current climate. It is my belief that the RE market, as it stands today, has peaked, and a crash is a distinct possibility within the next year. That said, there is no better investment in the long term than RE - but timing ones entry point is paramount, and buying at current market highs is a fools errand IMO.
