EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENT

Bathurst Resources Limited (ASX & NZX: BTU) is pleased to announce the
appointment of Simon Doig as Executive General Manager, Marketing and
Business Development.

Simon will be responsible for building and executing Bathurst's sales
strategies and seeking and developing new business opportunities.

Simon previously held a similar role with Solid Energy New Zealand and has 15
years' experience in international coal sales and developing new coal
businesses in New Zealand.

"Simon's experience and knowledge will make him a valuable addition to our
Executive Management Team." said Bathurst's Managing Director, Hamish
Bohannan.

Simon is based in the company's Wellington office.
