A certain percentage of rubies from the secondary deposits will be low value stones, however we would expect to see that percentage far higher in the primary deposit.
The best quality diamonds are referred to as Type lla which are either mined from alluvial or kimberlite deposits, but you would be lucky to see more than 35% gems by weight come out of a Tier-1 mine.
