Not an appropriate analogy. No fit at all.

If Japan had succeeded in invading the US and then tried to impose their system of government, that would be an analogy of the US invading Iraq and trying to impose their system of government.

Or Germany trying to impose fascism on England.

Either of those would result in the same thing as has happened in Iraq.
