Clearly you have not read the art of war properly (must be that closed mind of yours again)

The Art of War has nothing to do with going soft or not using the full military force you have, it is about using it smarter.

Unfortunately the US attitude is the one you have expressed which is one reason you lost in vietnam and why the US are losing in Iraq.

It is human to make mistakes but only a fool does not learn from the mistakes and keeps making them

You cop out and blame rules of engagement for the US's failures instead of looking for the real reasons (there is that closed mind again)

If the rules of engagement or the main problem and so restricting why is it that the Aust and UK forces in the main are achieving better results than the US with out the fuk ups in places like Iraq yet they have on many occassions refused to carry out attacks on targets indentified by the US that fitted into the US's rules of engagement because in their view they either were not of importance or an attack would result in unacceptable civilian harm.
