Occupation of Germany after WWII was also different to the occupation of Iraq on a very major issue
The occupation of Germany was based on legitimate reasons - the occupation of Iraq is not. Unless of course you are gullable and believe the US suddenly wanted to save the Iraqi people after ignoring their plight for 25 years and contributed to their persecution by supporting Saddam for 15 years then UN sactions for the next 10.
But hopefully for the sake of the Iraqi people and the rest of the region the history of post war Germany will be repeated.
