I recall Dr Tillett saying at the AGM that they were very, very sick. Apparently all relapsed AML patients are. Despite this it was said Bisantrene is a drug they can tolerate and apparently more tolerable than some of the current drugs used ( e.g. Doxorubicin ).
A drug needs to be safe, it needs to work and patients also need to be able to tolerate it ( obviously more challenging when the patients are very sick ).
Low cardiac toxicity is a particular strength of Bisantrene ( and this has been shown again and again in multiple trials ).
