Just read a quick article that suggests GXY's first spodumene shipment is getting close. The article isn't 100% positive and raises a concern though it doesn't seem like Iggy is too worried though still pays to have a read as it might also explain a delay or 2:

AS Galaxy Resources prepares to export the first shipment of spodumene through the Esperance Port, the presence of mica particles has become a concern for the Esperance Port Authority.

?As a port we have to take due diligence to ensure everything is proper as it comes through,? Port Authority CEO Michal Frydrych said.

Mica dust is a by-product of spodumene, and the size of the mica particles in the spodumene ore varies from half a millimetre to six millimetres in length.

The Enivronment Protection Authority (EPA) licence - which was issued to the port by the Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) two years ago ? was amended on January 27 to specifically include spodumene, and the conditions of the licence require that the port must ensure that no visible dust is emitted during the handling, storage and shipping of spodumene.

Galaxy Resources managing director Iggy Tan said there would be no health risks to the community and there was no issue.

?Mica dust is non-toxic and absolutely harmless, and the spodumene will be damp to stop the dust from blowing in the wind,? Mr Tan said.

However, the Lung Institute of WA director Professor Philip Thompson said mica particles have the potential to become hazardous.
