I was looking at the risks re the prospectus - I couldn't see the blatantly obvious, the demonstrated one...the one starting with the letter 'M'????
Thats the risk here because it has a long term trend and its been demonstrated on numerous occasions.
Long term credibility issues here?
Writing down assets to zero value, putting projects to sleep when they needed to be awake with the direct result of putting pressure on the companys shareprice, and some ridiculous underperforming vision statement that mentioned
under promise over deliver
thrown in the mix, and its hardly a recipe for shareholder confidence - or belief.
The apparent lower the bar mentality here... is this an incentive to create a winning culture and create a strong returns for shareholders?
The iron ore industry and demand is absolutely BOOMING. Depending on what you read, demand looks set to rise and stay at higher levels till 2018 or thereabouts.
There have been dozens of delays here now, written down assets, failure to adequately or even basically explain what is going on...
Who wins?
Who loses?
Who stands to benefit?
Its time the vision statement and utterings of a cultural underperformance mentality are seriously reviewed.
Accountability in setting the bar low is not what highly paid professionals get to do of their own volition when they are working for shareholders.
PLV shareholders don't require highly paid people to set the bar low. There are plenty of others out there who can do that without the premiums attached to their alleged value.
The industry and the market are not the problem here.
2 out of 6 Directors have shown some form of support by putting their dollars on the line with buying shares...4 haven't bothered.
One of those bought recently and very opportunistically near the bottom.
Leadership isn't just done by the CEO.
The PLV culture is what exactly?
What does it stand for?
What does it look like outside looking in?
A Paul Roos or a Ken Hinkley chat might do the team (and consequently shareholders) a world of good.
