Alf,
The manuscript/results could be uploaded to a preprint server immediately and not need to wait for full peer review. Very commonly done nowadays. This allows open discussion with KOL, investors and Pharma. Most big journals allow and even encourage this approach and it does not hinder publication.
Only issue may be IP protection. Need to make sure that is in place before announcing results.
