I am not an accounting expert, but I have been told that individuals can't not buy and sell same day same parcel for Tax Purpose. If one does that he/she qualify as Day Traders. There should be 45 days gap between buy and sell for same parcel to qualify for Tax (I could be totally wrong here, any Tax Expert here ?)

hi SC , the 45 days gap that you referred to is right for the dividend payment from a company paid out with franking credit ( excluding the date bought and sold)
