The same could be said of the virus. Less then 1% of people die of the virus, so it should be our choice as to whether we take risks with a vaccination or not. There are risks to taking a vaccination which doesn't stop the spread or having the virus.

The benefit of driving to the shops, swimming at the beach, etc outweighs the risk. In my mind the risk of having a vax that has risks and doesn't stop spread, virus etc is too great for the benefit of maybe a milder infection on a virus that kills less than 1% of infected, but I am healthy. I think it should be up to individuals to make the choice, and there should be no government or social pressure to vaccinate, but I am a strong believer in democracy and individual choices.
