Crypto is now mainstream ,that is quite obvious You ignore it at your peril.It goes on a 4 year cycle and is in the middle of another bull market .The alt coins are hopium but Ethereum and Bitcoin are now mainstream .BTC is nearly at 100,000$ ,I bought some just prior to the beginning of the last bull cycle at 900$a unit,bought Ethe at 200 and sold at 4600 a year later.
BTC and Ethe have way outperformed the gold market ,safer to invest now as there are etfs for Ethe and BTC.
DEG has basically been in a trading pattern for 4 years plus .
Gold is at a crossroads with two competing technical opinions .Gold had a good week last week up 5% ,it is now at a critical Fibonacci retracement.If you are an Elliot wave afficionado then we are about to enter a wave three down (very significant correction).The other technical analysts of MACD and other technicals predict onwards and upwards .
However gold stocks are not participating hardly at all and silver is not going up much .
Cryptos are taking a lot of money out of the gold market .Like it or not.The election of Trump who is a supporter of Cryptos has resulted in a big bump up.The resignation of Gensler the SEC chairman and Crypto opponent is also important .In many ways if you are a gold bug its safer to invest in the metal itself rather than small miners.

gold has done correction recently and the next stop is us$3000+

gold and crypto now are both working as a financial tool for United States.

bitcoin run hot is actually not because Trump win, but Trump win caused a another rallying together with new crypto ETF pump in cascade.

Gold is more tangible as there is no alternative but crypto is not
