i actually wont be surprised if this is overturned.
i dont think the minister understood the ramifications of her decision when she made it as evidenced by 'im not against stopping the mine' and likely thought rrl would just need to shift the tailings dam 3 ft to the right and wed all be sweet. About the knowledge and intelligence level youd expect from a career politcian. the arrogance is astounding.
can see a statment like rrl had led me to believe moving the dam wasnt an issue etc to try and save face, or it ends up on albos desk to overturn as the PM. hes a usless twat, but i also dont think he is stupid or blind to the severity of this decision for not just nsw, and not just gold but any project anywhere in the country.
i dont believe the nsw premier can overturn a federal minister? but im not a lawyer or really aware of the intricacies of the act and interplay between state and federal here. others may be able to clarify.
