+2% to gold price is like +6% to profit, so somewhat justifies a 6% SP rise, if you expect the gold price to hold.
If gold was up multiple %, and KCN was not, I'd be buying...no manipulation needed. Or if other gold miners were up, and KCN was not, I'd be rebalancing. Same goes in reverse.
