I think the VW connection will make perfect sense. VW palns on building the ID.4 in Chattanooga TN which is approximately 350 Miles (563 Km) from Charlotte NC. VW's announcement that they will be building their own batteries seems to indicate to me they will do the same in the US. This seems to be a perfect fit for both companies. That would give piedmont the 2 largest EV makers in the US as off-take partners... WOW.
