Recessions don’t get announced mate, they are the two successive quarters of negative GDP. So by definition the announcement is backwards looking. By the time it’s announced it’s history.
Markets are not pricing that in now so it’ll take a surprising downturn in economic activity to change. “Soft landing” is now the most expected outcome looking forward with lower rate rises…indeed maybe a cut late in 2023.
Hence markets have rallied pretty hard of late.
