I honestly think Zip is the perfect takeover target for Klarna or Affirm - Zip has an amazing foothold in the Australian market, particularly as they are already adhering to the regulations that will be implemented. It must be way cheaper to just buy Zip (particularly at such low valuations) than to try enter the Australian market and compete against Zip.
