US consumption is out of control. Their government is in a stimulatory phase with billions being handed out for green manufacturing industry. Their housing lending is mostly fixed so households are pretty much immune to the interest rate hikes and while rents make up 30% of their CPI, it is because they apply a rental expectation to every house in the US, including owner occupied houses (65% of the nation's housing stock) and include it in the CPI. The US has a rental crisis just like in AUS so while rents rise inflation stays high and they won't be reducing rates. In AUS rent makes up only 6% of the CPI, households are struggling (including from the impact of the highest exposure to variable housing interest rates in the world) and we are more likely to have interest rate cuts earlier, also because our government is in tight arse phase for some time to come. The US is the place to be!
