No TB, the RBA has a mandate and absolute authority and has said that the rules to level the playing field with regards to merchants no longer having to shoulder the high costs of BNPL transactions will be introduced. AFIA, the BNPL Association is trying desperately to have the rules stalled off until some time in the future when the industry gets on its feet, but the RBA is indicating that time is close to up. It is, however, inviting industry and community representation before it makes a final decision.
