I don't think they overpaid for Quadpay personally, primarily because I think they would have spent just as much starting everthing from scratch in the US which would mean they were further behind and Quadpay would still exist as a competitor.
As for the rebrand, I personally much prefer the name Zip to Quadpay - I think Quadpay really pigeonholes your company into BNPL, whereas Zip has a much broader financial services name.
Anyway, it's all in the past now. Despite all the money lost, there has been plenty gained too and the company is growing well now so should be an interesting 12 months.
