    Thanks ejd99 & bean pea for your personal insight, much like mine i too reckon it was the best thing we ever did.

    Why i started at $75000 why i'm still going

    1) i am INDIVIDUAL not paying someone to manage my money, i do not make a loss. MY NUMBER ONE on my trading/investment plan
    2) i have an interest & a desire to be educated in the stockmarket (if you do not, do not do it).

    3) I have not lost a cent since i started it, 6 years ago even after accountants,auditors, taxes & the financial programs i put through the smsf to run it effectively. (Started under the $200K, financial industry standard)

    4)most importantly, if there is ever a loss, i will have to justify my existence to my dual member, my wife. Sadly the financial industry does not have to justify it self just sends a tax statement with COSTS.

    Would love to hear others stories of setting up & running a smsf including the software, resources, strategies you all use, including not just retirees but those in the 30's, 40's,50's.
