Lets get this in contaxt .....bhp is not simply an "aussie Icon" but the WORLDS biggest miner.....note the WORLDS BIGGEST......
It is listed on both the London and NY Stock exhange where I imagine the ACCC have not power over whether who can buy or sell shares or the percentage holdings of any one individual company or consortium
Now .......Being a global company trading in a global market on global stock exchanges would lead one to believe that it is possible that "global" buyers could acquire large positions in the company without a lot of resistance...........then all us little players will pay share prices not yet heard of to protect our "aussie icon" from foreign ownership
Don't underestimate the yellow peril!!!!!!!!!!!!!
