This was a real joke doing the rounds in the Soviet Union during the food shortages in the late 1980s ...
The queue outside the bakery in Moscow didn't seem to be getting any shorter and after three hours standing in the icy cold, one man decided he'd had enough. He left the queue and marched down the street.
"Where are you going?" he was asked.
"I'm going to shoot Gorbachev," he shouted.
Five minutes later he was back.
"What happened?" he was asked.
"You should see the queue down there."
