One of the tax measures put forward about 30 years ago, was a flat fee on all transactions, and no other direct or indirect taxes. Recently, when tax has been mentioned, both Dave and myself have mentioned this option. Apparently it is gaining traction, as two eminent individuals will be having a public debate about the concept, and it has been advertised on Alan Jones' morning show.
I like the idea, and wouldn't mind seeing what information the two debatees come up with.
