Agreed. It's actually a well known problem the software looks to solve. Even for an Aussie medium-sized company with services or products procured just from NZ this becomes a problem if dealing with lots of invoices, monthly/regularly... what more from other countries like Japan or China. You are basically forced to consult one of the big four and it's expensive but necessary audit. It's not for everyone though such as small businesses. It's also possible to imagine a future, the likes of Xero or SAP looking to acquire whether outright or through licensing to integrate the product in their own applications for streamlined solution for their customers. My business use SAP, so yes I could imagine Amos probably would want to speak people like me as my business is a target customer. Perhaps in time. He's certainly not the first to try tackling the issue, ReadSoft was once upon a time entertaining the idea but didn't pursue VAT/GST recoveries across multinational transactions. I'm most keen on saving audit cost and having better internal control/management rather than having no other choice but to consult one of the big four. Thanks indeed for sharing.
