Yes, we most definitely are! The fulfillment of 1 Thess 5:3 is certain to occur at a time when it is least expected.
(Matthew 24:44) On this account, you too prove yourselves ready, because the Son of man is coming at an hour that you do not think to be it.

It seems at the moment the world is on a course of self destruction.
