There is no mention of 'the Devil' in Genesis or the rest of the Torah.
''God knew and he gave warning.''
As the story goes, it was God who put all the elements of the set up into place, a naive couple who could not understand good and evil, a cunning beast...surprise, surprise, what could wrong. Would human parents put their children into that position and condemn them when they inevitably fail?
