That made me laugh. Let me know if I've misunderstood, but it looks like you're saying people are not delusional that the world might be alright if they fund research etc... but ignorant, because if they had the knowledge to realise the world is going to end no matter what, they wouldn't bother trying to fix it.
You're posts are always well-written, and in the past provided some alternative food-for-thought that I enjoyed reading... More and more they seem like trolling though.
PS The guy falling down the cliff-face analogy just strikes me as a selfish attitude. To continue the analogies, You're choosing a free ice-cream for yourself now, over a chance at free ice-creams for all your friends and family down the track.
