    The argument mining contributes little to the country but destroys the environment is completely idiotic and typical greeny attitude

    You should watch Gina's Facebook videos where she is putting on crocodile tears in the voice overs showing photos of tribes and waterfalls nowhere near mines ! Pull on the heartstrings and ignore facts

    Less than 1-2% of the Phillipines is covered by mining, so I always laugh when they compare it's revenue to tourism and others that use the entire land mass. If they used their brains and had a mining system like Australia or Canada, the country, people and environment would be far better off

    Some regions who rely on mining royalties will lose 50%+ of their revenue, watch when civil unrest breaks out, illegal mining, dynamite fishing and crime sparks up big time !

    Something like 95% of the households in the Phillipines aren't connected to sewers. All that garbage and excrement going directly into the waterways would do 100 times the damage mining does ... why not use the royalties from legitimate mining entities to fix that issue ?
