I wholeheartedly disagree.
1: The examples you've provided aren't nearly as bad. You can't compare putting pasta as a weekly special in coles to this. A more accurate comparison would be for coles to say pasta is on sale, but them to not discount it at all. And signing up to a mobile phone contract clearly states its a 24 month contract. The difference for me is that a moderately intelligent consumer should be able to walk (or click) into a store with no background information and not be lied to.
2: Two wrongs don't make a right. Just because another company is being dodgy doesn't make it ok for Kogan to be dodgy. One of the best parts of Australia as opposed to the USA is the enforcement of regulation around retail and financial products. Its a slippery slope.
As a Kogan shareholder i'm very happy to take a hit for the greater good to see this practice regulated.
