BHP was really only in it for Corridor Sands. That's only one plant (albeit a big one).

The situation is quite different now compared to 2007. Kronos have 4 TiO2 plants using the chloride process, where presumably they are considering using the APG addon...

    Leverkusen, Germany
    Langerbrugge, Belgium
    Varennes, Canada
    Lake Charles, Louisiana

Leverkusen in particular sits in the midst of Germany's industrial heartland (incl steel) near Dusseldorf.

They also mine ilmenite in Norway, so presumably also interested in the potential for APG's synrutile production there.

Plus, they were trailblazers with their chloride process superceding the sulphate process. So historically they are technologically-driven.

Plus.... we now have Orica and CMC interested in the steel side.

Pity about the delay, but its a totally different playing field now compared to BHP stumping up funds for a demo plant back in 2007.

    Exciting times.
