I just hope the Aboriginal communities and people who struggle won't just sit around and wait for the governments of this country to solve this crises over the next 200 years.
That will, just as it has in the past, leave them dependant on a system they ultimately despise.
As Beattie pointed out, the years since the 2001 report, all he managed was an alcohol policy... an embarrassment to both the government of QLD and the Aboriginal people.
It's time to stop listening to the left who choose to reinforce the belief system of victimisation.
Hard work and a desire to achieve will be met with and by all sorts of racist elements in this society, although I doubt it's anything like the past. Consistency applied to anything, including improving our lives is the key and sheer persistence will be rewarded.
I could think of nothing better than to see functional communities full of folk with purposeful lives. And if that means a spear in the leg for rapists to work out what they have done is wrong, then so be it.
I recall Howard speaking of his views on this subject of Aboriginal relations, but it wasn't until recently that I realised that his vision for an improved situation required equal hard work from both sides at the most basic every day levels. I suppose in reality he didn't help much either!... but I liked the idea.
Bug ger the lefts pity and bugger waiting around for the government to solve the problems.... please may the good folk stand up.
