I am not a holder of COH and have no particular bias either way with this stock. The 15% drop in sp in the past month has my attention.
Today we found out about an adverse decision from the US Supreme Court regarding patent infringement in favor of rival Advanced Bionics. As a potential investor, I don't view that the size of damages COH pay to be all that concerning.
What DOES concern me is whether the competitive position of COH products may be deteriorating. COH has been the market leader in hearing implants for about 25 years - it enjoys the widest margins and its share price probably reflects a lot of passive investing over many years that if unwound, would cause a large loss. Anyhow I invite comment regarding:
(a) reviews by readers who may have closer experience of the COH product Vs say Advanced Bionics? and
(b) whether the sp decline in the past month has some investors concerned?
