Also, who will dig the trenches to the houses? or even if they string it along powerlines? Who pays for the mux at each endpoint i.e. at each house you will need an extra 'modem' to convert the fibre back into ethernet / copper? installation and maintenance of the mux? Hey the mux also uses power if you really want to get pedantic.
Its mind boggling and theres a reason why enterprise pays THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS for the delivery of fibre services : that's how much it can cost to deliver the service. Even with economies of scale etc. I cannot see how the figures can come anywhere near retail ADSL pricing for the end user and not haemorrage money
