Those who try and compare now with 1987 are simply playing with themselves or just had nothing to do with markets in 1987 .

If a company like RSL ( give or take .0025c now) , It probably would have been $4.50 , there was crazy s*it happening on non existent fundamentals , I remember trading a miner ( and trading was ringing your broker , selling hopefully what you requested for the correct price ) I paid 20c in early 86 ..It went down , 18 / 16 / 14 ..back to 16 / ..20 / 24 / ..40 / 60 . It peaked at $6.40 , all within this period of time , before vanishing from the boards ( i got out at 80c ) and cursed myself , but there was crazy examples , all with little substance to support the price .

Its was always going to end in tears ! lots changed after 1987 .

Markets always carry a degree of risk , but there are so many differences its really just a ridiculous example to even contenplate , but we have the internett now ..and that means 95% bulls* it and 5% fact is close enough to correct .

Gives the punters something to talk about .
