Hoffmann says pharma need to explore Chemical Biology approaches in much greater detail.
When asked what areas of Chemical Biology, his first reply is:
" One area is certainly the delivery of non-permeable molecules and macromolecules into cytoplasm and into the cell nucleus. What we would have to explore here are active and passive transport mechanisms, endo- or transcytosis, artifical viruses, and cell penetrating peptide motives...."
.................... Getting drugs into cells seems to be Roche's main focus.
Cell penetrating peptides are what PYC went searching for in stage 1 and PYC are happy with the results.
