So how significant is Jan 3 for SPX?

You would expect it be so as we all know about the Santa Claus rally that comes before.

I will list all the years from 2011 when Jan 3 +/- 2 trading days was a worth while trading high. Some were multi week and many were multi month.

I haven't included some years when the following decline was just a few days or even a week or so.

There were also more than a few years when it was a low.
