On 29/08/2013 Inca Minerals announced a 13 hole drilling program (9 epithermal holes ranging in depth from 190 to 300 metres to test the shallow Gold-Silver sulphide mineralisation; and 4 epithermal/porphyry holes ranging in depth from 700 to 750 metres to test the enriched copper-molybdenum-silver porphyry deposit).

On 18/09/2013 Inca Minerals announced the appointment of Mr David Bent, an experienced Geologist with over 35 years exploration experience, including 15 years in Peru. Mr Bent has an impressive CV including playing an integral role in the discovery of Real de Angeles (Ag-Zn) in Mexico which at one time was the world’s second largest silver producer. He was also involved in the development of Antamina (Cu-Zn) mine in Peru, the largest copper-zinc porphyry related skarn deposit in the world, which is expanding production to 120,000 tonnes per day and has reserves in excess of 822 million tonnes.

On 20/09/2013 Inca Minerals announced that it is “… expanding its’ 2013 drilling program to take into account the full array of epithermal and porphyry targets. A total of 43 drill targets have now been generated within the Phase 1 and Phase 2 exploration areas. The targets are defined by coincident geological, geochemical and geophysical anomalies.

A total of three holes were drilled to test the shallow epithermal targets identified within the existing permit and in proximity to existing access. All three holes intersected pervasively altered sulphide-bearing volcanics, which in places display high degrees of brecciation and sulphidisation. Samples have been submitted for analysis and the Company is awaiting results. …”

The management of Inca Minerals must be very confident of the potential resource after drilling only three holes in the current campaign. Based on just a visual analysis of the drill core they have moved to appoint a very experienced geologist as their in-country Exploration Manager in Peru and have just announced a 330% increase in their 2013 drilling program. Both of these factors suggest that they think they are onto something big. They would be very unlikely to do this if the first three holes in the current drilling program are duds.
