But bear in mind, the Government , batts, BER etc were deliberate strategies to get the economy going again. The coalition would have spent a similar amount were they in Government. Was some money wasted? Of course but it kept the economy from collapsing into recession. Which meant I finally got another job. And the savings are now well above pre-retrenchment days, particularly with the recent share market rally.
